The hose of a hand shower is one of the key components connecting the main body and the nozzle. Its design and structure are directly related to the flexibility, durability and service life of the shower.
Material selection
The material the hand shower hose is made of has a significant impact on its performance. Common hose materials include stainless steel braided hose, PVC, EPDM rubber, etc. Stainless steel braided hose is favored for its strength and flexibility, which prevents hose damage from stress and bending. PVC and EPDM rubber have better heat resistance and corrosion resistance. The choice of material usually depends on the positioning of the product and the needs of the user. For example, high-end products may use stainless steel braided hose to increase service life.

The structural design of the hose mainly includes the internal structure and external protective layer. The internal structure usually consists of water pipes and braid. Braiding (usually stainless steel braiding or fiber braiding) enhances the pressure and tensile strength of the hose, preventing the hose from rupturing under high water pressure. The smooth surface of the internal water pipes helps ensure smooth water flow.
The outer protective layer is usually the outer shell of the hose, and its material is usually made of waterproof and wear-resistant materials, such as PVC or rubber. This layer is designed with waterproofing in mind to prevent water from penetrating inside the hose. Some premium hoses may also have protective mesh layers to increase abrasion resistance and tensile strength.
Connector design
Hand shower hoses are usually equipped with connectors at both ends to connect the main body to the spray head. The design of the joint is directly related to the ease of installation and removal of the hose, as well as the sealing of the connection. Common hose connector materials include brass, stainless steel and ABS plastic. Brass has excellent corrosion resistance and strength, stainless steel is also rust-proof, and ABS plastic is lightweight and does not rust easily.
Some advanced hose couplings also feature a swivel design that makes the hose more flexible when connected, helping to reduce twisting and winding of the hose.
Protection and durability
The hose of the hand shower needs to have certain protective properties to cope with the humidity and high temperature in the bathroom environment. The protective layer should be durable, resistant to aging, and waterproof. Some hose designs may also include anti-twist technology to prevent the hose from twisting and kinking during use, increasing the service life of the hose.
High pressure and wear resistance
Since hand showers usually have to deal with high water pressure, the hose must have a certain pressure resistance. The hose material and construction should be designed with this in mind to ensure that the hose does not rupture or leak under high water pressure. At the same time, the outer layer of the hose should also be designed to have a certain degree of wear resistance to prevent damage during installation and use.
